PRODUCTSAt the core of the Forts’ solutions is the Knox unit that contains the storage and secure processing core of the solutions. Connection to the Knox units is through the Delaware and Ticonderoga switching units whilst the Sumter Agent loaded onto the existing business PCs and Workstation ensure the compliance of the procedures specified by the Knox. All together they make for enforced Information security for the Enterprise.

Knox Unit
The Knox is at the core of the Fort Solution with from 24 PB up to 32 EB of usable mirrored storage, hardened servers running the user, device and location access rights databases as well as the key generation and management functions. Internal to each Knox these servers are fully redundant and utilize AI to manage data storage between cache, SSD and physical hard discs for storage utilization.
The Knox also contains the secure user rights database that is used to configure what access is given to a user based also on the machine in use and their physical location. The Rights database offers a very granular approach where access to applications, other storage devices, printers and a wide range of devices can be defined at every level. Each item can also be selected to only be enabled by the local time right down to a 15-minute section.
Delaware units
Act as edge switches to handle connections from the attached PCs / workstations to the Knox units. Connection to the Knox is by four fibre connections that allow for redundancy and load sharing. On smaller installations the Delaware will connect directly to the Knox units whilst on larger ones they will connect via the Ticonderoga switch.
The Delaware utilizes four, 16 Gigabit upstream fibre connectors (1,600 MB/se payload each) and twelve, 1 Gbit Ethernet downstream connections (125MB/s payload each).
The internal design of the Delaware allows for full bandwidth on all ports to be available simultaneously and all encryption to run at these speeds. Delaware Datasheet
Ticonderoga units
The Ticonderoga acts as a core switch for larger installations to allow multiple Delaware Units to connect to the Knox units. These hardened units hold a mirror of the user and PC rights database to improve access performance. The units have AI controlled pathing and rerouting functions with 16 GBytes cache per channel.
The Ticonderoga has twenty-four, 32 Gigabit upstream Fibre connections (3200 MB/s payload each), and forty-eight, 16 Gigabit downstream fibre connections (1,600 MB/s payload each).
The Ticonderoga Units enforce all geo specific rules to ensure no data can be passed outside of the area specified in the meta data in the information stream. Ticonderoga Datasheet
Sumter Agent
The Sumter agent runs on the end points and uses the rights database to determine and configure access to devices and applications. Without the agent loaded end points cannot connect to the Forts’ solution. More information here.
